About this coffee
We absolutely adore natural processed Ethiopians and this Grade 1 lot from Bonde washing station is no exception. This is literally a piece of black forest cake in a cup. The high altitudes and loamy iron-rich acidic soil give rise to a bright, floral profile - strong cherry notes along with malt, milk chocolate and hint of crisp apple.
The Kochere woreda (district) is found in the Gedeo zone. This coffee in particular is grown near the town of Chelelektu. The washing station was established just out of town in 2010 and has 28 permanent and 350 temporary members during peak harvest. The growing region is around 5km from the mill itself. The name Bonde is the name of a local river in native language. This region receives 1190 – 1500mm of rain on average.
