Colombia | Buesaco Nariño | Tablon de gomez
About this coffee
This unique microlots is produced by smallholders from Tablon de Gomez, Nariño. Located in the south of Colombia on the corder with Ecuador. It has a history of FARC activity which has caused instability over the years, However, it is a region in which our trusted green bean supplier see a lot of potential in.
This region produces some of the most exception grown coffee in Colombia. Typically it is very difficult to produce coffee at such high altitudes as many coffee plants suffer from 'dieback' however Nariño's proximity to the equatorial line & steep hills around the volcanoes provide a great angle for sun exposure, creating the right microclimate for them to thrive. With 1800 masl altitude allows slow maturation and development of the coffee cherry, giving time for concentrated sugars to develop in the fruit and result in this coffee lusciously floral, with intense candied sweetness and complex ripe fruit.
